  • British Citizens Abroad

Pleases note this is for Market Engagement only. The Authority, His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) is issuing a market questionnaire to identify suppliers interested in delivering Welfare Support to British Citizens Imprisoned Abroad upon their return to the United Kingdom. British citizens returning from overseas imprisonment often face serious challenges—such as lack of housing, employment, or access to benefit and welfare services along with loosing contact with family and friends. There is no statutory support for these returnees, and the probation services only cover those released from UK prisons. Delays in benefit processing can leave returnees destitute, homeless and at risk of reoffending. Some may also be high-risk individuals with complex support needs.
